Veteran's Food Bank Donations

Help Us Support Our Veterans – Food Drive for the Veteran's Food Bank

In honor of those who have served our country, we are organizing a food drive all year to support the Veteran's Food Bank.  Every month, we will be setting up competitions and challenges for students to bring in as many donations as possible.  To build Wildcat spirit, all homerooms have been split into 4 teams and will work together to get points each month.  At the end of the year, there will be a grand prize for the team that was the most successful.

We kindly ask for your help in making this effort a success.  Non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and boxed meals are greatly appreciated.  Your generous donations will go directly to local veterans and their families in need.

Donations can be dropped off in their homeroom starting the week of November 4.

Together we can show our appreciation and give back to those who have given so much for us.

Remembrance Day Assemblies

We will be having 2 Remembrance Day assemblies on Wednesday November 6.

  • Assembly 1:    Grade 6 students                    9:00 to 9:45 am
  • Assembly 2:    Grades 7,8,9 students            10:30 to 11:15 am

Families are welcome to attend either of the assemblies.

Picking Up Students Early

From time to time parents will need to pick up their child/ren early from school for various reasons such as appointments, sports, etc…

The office does not need advance notice of the pick up.  Parents can either come into the office or you can call the office (403-777-7720 ext 0) when you arrive at school to have your child dismissed early.  We will call students classrooms to have them dismissed.

Reporting Student Lates/Absences

Please be sure to call or email with your child’s absence or if your child will be late for school.    It is helpful if parents can be quite specific regarding the reason for the late or absence.

Used Book Fair

Bring Us Your Used Books for Our Used Book Fair!

Do you have books at home that you've already read or no longer need? Instead of letting them gather dust, why not give them a new life and support our school at the same time?

We are excited to announce that the school learning commons will be hosting a Used Book Fair Fundraiser! This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to clear out their bookshelves and contribute to a great cause. All proceeds from the fair will go towards enhancing our learning commons, providing more resources and creating a better space for our students to thrive.

How You Can Help:

  1. Save Your Used Books: Gather any gently used books that are appropriate for all ages. This includes children's books, young adult novels, adult fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, and more! No textbooks please.
  2. Bring Your Books to the School Office: Bring them to our front office and let them know they are books for the book fair.
  3. Spread the Word: Encourage friends, family, and neighbors to donate their books, too!

Why Participate?

  • Support Your School: Every book donated helps raise funds to improve our learning commons.
  • Promote Reading: Help provide affordable reading options for our community.
  • Sustainable Choice: Recycling books is environmentally friendly!
  • Support Local Charities: Any leftover books will be donated to the Calgary Reads Big Book Sale, the RESET Society of Calgary Book Sale or other local charities.

Stay tuned for more details on the event. Let's work together to make this fundraiser a huge success!   Thank you for your support!
